CADA continues fight against drug abuse

Continuing its effort to curb the menace of drugs and substance abuse from the State, Coalition Against Drug and Alcohol (CADA) conducted a discussion programme on "Impact of drugs and substance abuse on society" at Thiyam Konjil Warok Leikai yesterday.
The discussion cum awareness programme was held in collaboration with Meira Paibis of Thiyam Konjil Warok Leikai, said CADA in a statement today.
Takhellambam Kokilshwor Meitei, retd forest guard, Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA Imphal East District Committee and Mayengbam Budhi, secretary organisation, CADA attended the programme as presidium members.
CADA's secretary general Geetchandra Mangang and vice president Ningthoujam Doren also attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, N Doren said that drugs and substance abuse not only ruined the lives of users but also have an adverse effect on the society as a whole.
The increasing use of heroin (No 4) by youths in last 3-4 years poses a grave threat to the State's future, he said and appealed all clubs and Meira Paibis to double their effort in fighting drug menace.
