Cabinet okays residential schools in all districts

Imphal, June 15 2012:
The State Cabinet has approved to setting up of one residential school in all the districts of the state.
According to information received by Hueiyen lanpao, a meeting of the State Cabinet held today also gave its approval to recruitment of 130 wardens and teachers for the residential schools proposed to be set.
The residential schools would be set up under the sponsorship of Centrally-sponsored scheme, SSA.
The intake capacity of a residential school would be 100 students, 50 boys and 50 girls.
With regard to another agenda discussed in the meeting today, the Cabinet recommended that three Gram Panchayats out of five under Kangpokpi Zilla Parishad be placed under the District Council and the remaining two Gram Panchayats under Khurkhul Zilla Parishad.
An order in this regard is expected to be issued soon.
Though today's Cabinet meeting has not arrived at any definite decision on the date for holding the Panchayat elections, it was earlier decided to hold the election in the month of September.
Among other agendas, the Cabinet meeting also discussed the issue of death of Angom Brajamani of Phayeng in an alleged encounter at Khuyathong in 2008.But no decision had been taken in this regard.
