Power from bagasse, rice husk and straw a distant dream in our state

Among the various development programmes taken up in Nagpur, Maharashtra through new technological means under the leadership of Nitin Gadkari, National President, BJP, the state has even produce a power from bagasse, rice husk and straw and is able to provide 24 hour power supply even to the poorest of the poor in the area.
Nitin Gadkari has made this possible through the Purti Group which he has established with a long term vision in mind.
A number of projects have been taken up under the Purti Group.
Under its initiative are a number of development programmes for the benefits of the poor people like producing sugar from sugarcane, further producing electricity from the left over crushed canes.
The power generated is again used brewing wine and again producing bio-diesel, bio-gas and fertilizer etc.
The whole development programme taken up taken up under the initiative of the Purti Group was witnessed by a team of media persons from the North East who paid a visit to Nagpur from 20 to 224 April.
The visit of the media team was sponsored by Nitin Gadkari.

The media persons from Manipur were taken over by the way in which power is being provided to the people of the district.
The people who were among the poorest of the poor were given uninterrupted power supply throughout the day and night.
They witnessed the sharp difference between Nagpur and the state of Manipur.
Here in Manipur people hardly gets four hours of electricity in a day, which is also interrupted by load shedding.
As such the people of the state are reluctant to pay off their electricity bills.
However a total different case was witnessed in Nagpur by the media persons.
The media teams also paid a visit to the 'Purti Power and Sugar Limited', 'Mahatma Sugar and Power Limited and 'Wainganga Sugar and Power Limited'.
They also visited the farms where the raw materials are available.
The Purti Power and Sugar Ltd is an all encompassing project producing sugar, electricity, alcohol, ethanol, bio-diesel and bio-fertilizer.
It was established in 2000 at Bela, a small town in Nagpur district.
The production capacity of the project is 2500 TPD Sugar, 24.45 MW electricity and 1,20,000 LPD Ethanol/Alcohol.
2000 people have found direct work while another 10,000 families are benefitting from the project directly.
All the three projects produced electricity at a capacity of 24.45 mw, 15 mw and 40 mw respectively.
Apart from these, the projects also produce bio-gas, alcohol, lime and fuel from sugar-cane.
In Chandrapur and Kandari district of Maharastra, the Yash Agro Energy Limited generates power from rice husk.
