Representatives of All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU), Democratic Students' Alliance of Manipur (DESAM), Kangleipak Students' Association (KSA), Students' Welfare Association, Kangleipak (SWAK) and Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) today claimed that Takhellambam Rahul, a student of Don Bosco, Chingmeirong, who reportedly went missing since April 21, had been in fact abducted for a ransom demand of Rs 3 lakhs from the school authority by KCP (MC) Ningamba group.
A hosteller in the boarding house of the school, Rahul reportedly went missing on his way to the hostel from school. However, the school authority has refuted the claim, saying that it has nothing to do with ransom demand from any UG group.
But there are evidences that Rahul, who comes from a broken family, had been obviously planning to leave the boarding house and all his belongings were found to have been shifted prior to his disappearance.
On the other hand, while addressing a press conference at the office of AMSU here today, representatives of the five student bodies contended that there are evidences that Rahul was abducted by KCP (MC) Ningamba group as the school authority turned down an extortion demand of Rs 3 lakhs.
