Education minister declares HSE 2021 result

Education minister Sorokhaibam Rajen Singh has on Saturday formally announced promotion of students whose Higher Secondary Examination (HSE) 2021 annually conducted by Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur (COHSEM) had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Minister Rajen informed that total number of candidates whose assessment report has been received by the Council from different higher secondary schools (private and government) and colleges having class XII is 31,136 .
Out of this, result of 31,074 candidates has been declared, while result of 62 candidates has been withheld.
There are 59 candidates waiting for conducive atmosphere for writing their subject improvement exam.
Applications of 972 students are also being awaited to be submitted to the Council.
These students can submit their applications till July 31, 2021 according to the Council's notification.
According to this year's result, 16,395 students are declared to have been passed in first division, 13,100 students in second division, 1557 students in third division and 22 students in simple pass.
In terms of district-wise percentage of students, Bishnupur, Kamjong, Pherzawl, Ukhrul and Chandel district recorded 100 per cent pass percentage.
Imphal West district has the record of highest number of students with 11,082 registered candidates for this year, while Pherzawl district has the lowest number with just four registered students for the exam.
Overall pass percentage including Arts, Science and Commerce stream is 99.80 per cent.
A total of 9061 students from Arts, 21,387 from Science and 747 in Commerce stream totaling 31,195 students got enrolled this year while 31,136 students appeared in pre-examination programme in their respective institutions and 31,074 got promoted.

Declaring the result at the conference hall of the COHSEM, S Rajen said that the announcement of the HSE 2021 in time, during this pandemic hour is a good sign for the education sector of the state.
The Minister also appreciated the efforts of the Education Department, COHSEM, education commissioner, director and exam controlling officers.
S Rajen stated that declaring 10+2 exam result of the state before the CBSE result is a big achievement of the government and the Education Department.
He also said that the marking modalities were framed after minute discussion and consultation with resource persons and education experts.
If any student or guardian is not satisfied with the marking in the assessment system, they can apply for appearing in the exam physically, the minister added.
Higher and technical education commissioner M Harekrishna, Education (S) director L Nandakumar, COHSEM chairman Dr L Mahendra also attended the programme as president and guests of honour respectively.
Council members and staff were also present during the occasion.
