Certificates distribution function of RIMS held

The internship completion certificates were distributed to 60 MBBS students of the NE States today in a simple function held in the mini auditorium of RIMS, a statement informed.
Speaking at the function, Prof S Sekharjit, Director, nostalgically recalled how the scenario was different in his time of first batch MBBS students in the then Regional Medical College.
He hoped to see most of the students back in RIMS as PG students.
He also said that the teachers in RIMS are of high calibre and do not leave the institute for personal gains.
The research papers submitted are of high quality and satisfactory in number.
He exhorted the students to emulate these teachers.
Prof N Damayanti, chairman of the Hostel Development Committee said that the internship completion was just a process of metamorphosis.
She said that all of them should aim for the PG course.
They should not forget that their student career is not over as yet.
Prof Kaushik Debnath, Dean (Academic) said that for success in life the students should not forget the corner stones of honesty, sincerity, punctuality and hard work.
Prof C Arunkumar, Medical superintendent said that this batch of students were very brilliant and he enjoyed interacting with them.
He asked them to become super specialists so as to do RIMS proud.
One behalf of the students Dr Palden Wangchuk Bhutia, the topper of the batch, thanked the teachers and others.
He said that RIMS shall remain always in their hearts, no matter where they go and do.
It may be recalled that this ceremonial handing over of the completion certificate was started from last year since the authorities of RIMS felt that the occasion should be made something worth remembering and touching, it added.
