SSA conducts career seminar in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, May 31 2012:
In an effort to familiarise students with different career choices, a one-day career orientation seminar was conducted under the aegis of Sarva Shiksa Abhiyan (SSA) at Ukhrul town hall on Thursday.
The career orientation programme, which was attended by 1000 students from various schools of Ukhrul, was today graced by deputy commissioner B.John Tlangtinkhuma and zonal education officer/ SSA district project officer N.Everest Luikham as chief guest and guest of honour respectively.
In today's seminar, the Ukhrul-based Professional Training Institute (PTI) director, Wungramthan Shongzan, presented a meticulous interactive lecture on "the 3-Dimensions of Career Planning (What, Where & How)," and exhaustive introduction to various target cities for further studies.
The highlights of the seminar include a talk on career prospects of National Defence Academy (NDA) presented through a power point presentation by 17 Assam Rifles captain Vikrant Siwash.
Commandant (17 AR) Ved Beniwal also attended and encouraged the students to opt for military services.
Further, the AR informs that students interested to join NDA-II may visit 17 AR, HQs, Somsai in Ukhrul alongwith two passport-size photographs for filling up application latest by June 4, 2012 .
The students were also provided with free materials like career roadmap chart, decision sheet, notepad, pen and refreshments during the programme.
