Many seasoned politicians making beeline to join BJP

With BJP emerging as a strong contender in forming the next government at the centre, many seasoned politicians of Manipur are eying for primary membership of the party, a highly reliable source has disclosed.
According to the source, the BJP would be holding its National executive meeting in Mumbai from May 24 to 25 to discuss organizational structures of the party and work out strategies for the forthcoming Parliamentary elections.
Taking in new membership into the party will be carried out from June to August in the state for which BJP National President Nitin Gadkari would be coming here to talk with seasoned and heavyweight politicians of the state, who have send feelers for joining the party.
Gadkari would also be meeting persons from intellectual circles in the state to discuss political strategies of the party in the state.
Elections for units and blocks of the party and state committee would also be held after enrollment and finalization of new memberships, the source added.
Mention may be made here that MPP Advisor Thounaojam Chaoba and MPP General Secretary Robin Blacky have already submitted their resignation papers from the primary memberships of Manipur People's Party (MPP).
The duo along with NCP candidate Sorokhaibam Rajen of Lamsang A/C had also met BJP National leaders in New Delhi earlier fueling speculations of their seeking membership in BJP.
Moreover, many other NCP leaders in the state are also reportedly waiting for an opportune moment to join BJP.
On the other hand, speculations are doing the round over possible joining of MPP President Dr Nimaichand Luwang to BJP very after resigning from the post of MPP President very soon.
According to another reliable source, Dr Nimaichand had already requested the working committee of MPP in previous meetings for allowing him to retire from the post of party chief.
However, the working committee persuaded him to hold the post for some more time.
Nonetheless, Dr Nimaichand is likely to submit his resignation paper during the meeting of the Central Working Committee of MPP scheduled tomorrow, the source said.
When contacted, Dr Nimaichand, however, denied of any decisions to join BJP.
