Edibles distributed in C-zones, awareness prog held

Covid 2nd Wave Fighting Task Force Lamlai Mandal chairman Khong-bantabam Ibomcha, who is also a member of BJP Manipur Pradesh State Council, on Sunday extended edible items including pulses, oil, potato, onion and salt to families in Pungdongbam area of Lamlai AC who has been declared as containment zone.
He also urged the people above 45 years of age to get vaccinated against Covid-19 and strictly follow SOP guidelines so as to curb the second wave of pandemic.
The handing over of edible items was attended by task force convenor E Amitkumar, Pungdongbam GP former pradhan I Prem among others.
RK Fortune Developers proprietor RK Rameshwor also provided edible items including four boxes of edible oil, three bags of pulses and three bags of potato to Patsoi Tuliyaima Centaury Club (PTCC) for further distribution to families affected by Covid-19 in Patsoi III .
BJP Bishnupur district vice president Shanjoy Ahanthem also extended essential items to the families of three localities located in Pombikhok village, Kumbi AC, which have been declared as virus zone.
Nambol AC MLA N Loken too distributed edible items and face masks to every household of Phoijing Makha Leikai, Nambol Sabal Leikai, Kabowakching Maning Leikai, Maibam Ching-mang, Nambol Awang Leikai and Khathong which have been declared as containment zones after some family members tested positive for Covid-19.Under the initiative of Khundrakpam AC MLA Th Lokeshwar, Khundrak-pam Kendra Development Committee (KKDC) provided essential items to 80 households falling under containment zone in the constituency.
KKDC handed over the essential items to 12 households of Tangkham Makha Leikai, 5 households each of Haraorou, Kumuda and Tangkham Awang Leikai, 6 households of Chingkhu, 30 households of Waik-hong Makha Leikai and 17 households of Khundrakpam Mayai Leikai.
In a similar gesture, Kei-rao AC intending candidate for 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly Yumnam Shanta handed over edible items to 40 households of the constituency which have been declared as containment zone.
In view of the inconveniences faced by people residing in containment zone areas, he assured of providing all possible help so as to reduce some of their problems.
Meanwhile, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry minister and MLA of Wangoi AC O Lukhoi distributed edible items to families of his constituencies that have been demarcated as containment zone following detection of Covid-19 positive cases.
The edible items were distributed to families in the containment zone of Wangoi AC polling station number 22/23, Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leishangkhong Makha Leikai, Yumnam Huidrom Makha Leikai, Wangoi Wahengbam Leikai and Wangoi Thounaojam Leikai.
In addition to distribution of essential items, awareness programmes were conducted in different parts of the constituency to make sure that every individual who are allowed to get Covid vaccine administer it and people strictly follow Covid-19 SOP guidelines laid down by the government.
On the other-hand, in continuation of its awareness campaign on COVID-19, Youth's Club Brahmapur (YCB) and She Matters Women Wellness Centre founder Dr Savan Chongtham briefed the locals on the various SOPs issued by the government to contain spread of COVID-19.Dr Savana also provided face masks, hand sanitizers and health supplements like multivitamins, calcium, etc.
Volunteers of YCB in a house-to-house visit distributed the said materials and gave awareness on the right techniques of wearing a mask, maintaining hygiene and strengthening the body immune system, said a release.
