Fatalities spike with 15 deaths, as state logs 579 new cases

As the second wave of Covid-19 pandemic continues its onslaught, the state registered yet another single day highest fatality on Sunday with the government bulletins putting the day's death toll to 15 in addition to detection of 579 new cases.
With the addition of 579 new cases, the total active caseload in the state has reached 4280 out of which 2615 patients are in home isolation and the remaining 1665 are undergoing treatment in different hospitals and Covid Care Centres.
The last seven days reported 5879 new cases and 61 fatalities.
According to official reports, the 579 new cases include 571 civilians (307 male & 264 female) and 8 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
Their samples were tested at JNIMS (92), RIMS (35), Imphal East (12), Imphal West (49), Maipakpi (4), Mother's Care (3), RD Wing (2), CMC (1), Swiss Clinic (14), Ema Hospital (1), Raj Medicity (24), Iboyaima Hospital (3), Advanced Hospital (6), Shija Hospitals (16), Jivan Hospital (6), Babina Diagnostics (108), Escent Diagnostics (69), Thoubal (23), Bishnupur (26), Kakching (23), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (30), Chandel (1), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (6), Tengnoupal (4), Kangpokpi (7), Kamjong (3) and Noney (3) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (191), Imphal West (197), Thoubal (42), Bishnupur (34), Kakching (37), Ukhrul (6), Churachandpur (40), Chandel (1), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (2), Kangpokpi (8), Tengnoupal (5), Kamjong (3) and Noney (3).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
The 15 fatalities reported on Sunday include a 65-year-old male, a 72-year-old female, a 24-year-old male, a 60-year-old male, a 51-year-old male, a 43-year-old male & a 49-year-old male from Imphal West; a 79-year-old female from Kakching, a 72-year-old female from Chura-chandpur; a 36-year-old male, a 66-year-old male, a 58-year-old male, a 48-year-old male, a 39-year-old male, and a 78-year-old female from Imphal East.
Five of them died at Shija Hospitals, one each at DH Churachandpur & RIMS, two at Raj Medicity and six at JNIMS hospital.
The cumulative number of deaths is 476.In the last 24 hours, 135 patients were discharged from CAPF (9), home isolation (89), RIMS (9), RD Wing (12), RAJMED (4), Chura-chandpur (4), BB (1), SHRI (6) and Bishnupur (1) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 35,354 (general population - 31,696 and CAPF personnel - 3,658) .
Number of recovered cases is 30,598 (general population - 27,120 and CAPF personnel - 3,478) and number of active cases is 4280 (general population - 4105 and CAPF personnel - 175) .
The recovery rate is 86.55 per cent.
In the last 24 hours, 1036 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 333 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities in the state.
So far, 2,65,921 individuals have been administered Covid vaccine, the CCR report said.
The CCR report also informed air passengers, who travelled to the state on May 7 by Indigo flight (i) 6E-2615 in rows 8-20 & (ii) Indigo flight 6E-6358 in rows 1-4 to report to the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
Meanwhile, 21 new positive cases have been detected during RAT conducted in Kakching district on Sunday.
Six of them were detected at Jivan Hospital and 15 at government testing centre.
The 15 cases detected at government testing centre are from Kakching Sumak Leikai (3), Kakching Paji Leikai (1), Kakching Makha Leikai (1), Kakching Turel Wangma DSA Road (1), Irengband Sabal Makha Leikai (2), Te-jpur Mayai Leikai (1), Wabagai Mairenbam (1), Hiyanglam Warakkhong (1), Langmei-dong Mamang Leikai (3), and Kakching Khunou (1).The six cases detected at Jivan Hospital are from Ka-kching Makha Leikai Rajdhani Pareng (2), Kakching Chum-nang Leikai (1), Kakching Paji Leikai (1), Kakching Khunyai Leikai (1) and Maringphai Village (1) of Tengnoupal district.
Since May 1, 127 cases have been detected in Kakching AC, 34 in Wabagai AC, 38 in Hiyanglam AC, 29 in Sugnu AC .
Active cases in each AC of the district are Kakching (130), Wabagai (34), Hiyan-glam (38) and Sugnu (29).Fatalities reported from different constituencies due to Covid-19 are Kakching (4), Wabagai (5), Hiyanglam (5), and Sugnu (4).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 11,393 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 16,958 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 205,371 tests per million population against the national average of 217,225 TPM.
Case fatality rate rose to 1.35 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, 3164 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 18.30 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate further rises to 5.55 per cent.
