Abducted woman abandoned at RIMS

In an apparent case of crime against women, a 21-year-old woman hailing from Bishnupur was abducted by a man while she was buying clothes at Khwairamband Market and later abandoned at RIMS Hospital after three days.
Family members have rescued the woman from the hospital after they were informed about the admission of the woman at the hospital.
The man behind the act has been identified as Phurailatpam Nanao (28) s/o Ph Sunil Sharma of Wangjing Wangkhei Leikai.
According to family members, the woman is a student of Kangleipak Nursing Institute, Khurai and is a diabetic patient.
She had gone out from home for shopping at Khwairamband Market on October 26 early morning.
While shopping in the market, she met Ph Nanao who is known to her.
After the shopping, Nanao took away the woman in his car on the pretext of dropping her at home.
However, she was taken to other place.
She had telephoned her family at around 7 pm of the day since then her mobile was kept switched-off.
Since her whereabouts was not known till evening of October 27, family members filed a missing compliant at Bishnupur Police Station on the day.
Another case was also registered at Bishnupur Women Police on October 28 .
MLA of Wangjing Tentha, Paonam Brojen had assured family members of the woman that Nanao would be apprehended soon but no arrest has been made so far.
On October 29 at around 2 pm, the woman was admitted to RIMS Hospital by two tribal women after her health deteriorated.
It is said that the two tribal women are residents of Rengpang village, Salungpham Mamang.
Taking strong exception to the incident, family members have urged the authorities concerned to nab Nanao at the earliest and award stringent action against him for his heinous act.
