2nd anniversary of surgical strike to be commemorated countrywide

In order to showcase the gallant action of brave Army in conduct of Surgical Strikes on September 29, 2016 and also to remember the sacrifice of soldiers, Indian Armed Forces will observe 'Parakram Prav' from September 28 till 30 to mark the second anniversary of Surgical Strikes against terror camps across the Line of Control (LoC).
Various events will be held at important military stations to commemorate the same.
It can be recalled that Indian Army carried out Surgical Strikes on the night of September 28 and 29, 2016 in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir, inflicting heavy casualties on terrorists and those protecting them and heralding a change of stand on the rules of engagement on the disputed line of control.
Various events have been planned in the State to include Weapon and Equipment display, playing of video clippings on the 'Life of Soldiers' at the Line of Control, and establishing of digital /selfie walls, where citizens can write their message for the soldiers to honour their courage, valour and sacrifice.
In addition, school children will be encouraged to visit military institutions to witness the military values and type of training being imparted for motivating the youth.
The period will also be utilized to reach out to the families of martyrs and remember their contribution in safeguarding the border and integrity of the Nation and to showcase the solidarity with the families of the martyrs.
This multifarious event has been planned to organise at various places in the country.
