Inter School Football Championship kicks off

Inter School Football Championship - 2018, kicked-off today at Longmai Common Ground, Longmai (Noney) District organized by 143 Bn CRPF and hosted by Longmai Bazar Youth Club.
Brig S K Sharma, YSM (Retd) DIGP, Range Imphal, Commandant Lal Chand Yadav 143 Bn CRPF, Dr GK Kabui (CMO) 143 Bn CRPF Lamphel HQ, M Santosh Dy Commandant 143 Bn CRPF, Kenan Kamei President Rongmei Naga Manipur State, Kapudai Dangmei Chairman Longmai Village Customary Court (Thoupei), Kasaigai Gangmei Chairman Longmai Village Authority, and Sk Athaipou attended the opening ceremony as presidium j members.
Speaking at the occasion, Chief Guest Brig S K Sharma said that CRPF is organizing the tournament under Civic Action Programme to motivate the younger generation in the field of games & sports to expose their hidden talent.
There are many talented and potential sportsperson in Manipur who can compete in the international level and scores of world class sportsperson can be produced if proper training is provided right from the young age, he mentioned.
The tournament began with the march-past from contingent of the participating schools while Chief Guest received the salute.
Later, a cultural dance was performed by the students of St Joseph School, Khumji-2.Sports dress were distributed to all the players of the team including Berean School, CTS School, Domini English School, Rhema Public Academy, St Joseph School, St Savio School, Sharon School, Tent Makers School in the opening ceremony.
The tournament carries a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for the winners along with a trophy while the runners-up team will be awarded a cash prize of Rs 5,000.Football and football net will also be distributed to each participating team as a part of the tournament.
In the opening day, the first match was won by CTS school while Domini English School defeated Rhema Public Academy 3-1 in the second match, said the press release issued by Commandant 143 Bn CRPF.
