Manipur Sahitya Parishad contributes greatly but only few are aware of their work: Karam Shyam

The 84th foundation day cum 83rd annual meet of Manipur Sahitya Parishad was held at Maharaja Chandrakirti auditorium, Palace Compound today.
The two day celebration event was attended by CAF & PD Minister Karam Shyam as chief guest, Manipur Sahitya Parishad Imphal president Professor Kangjam Ibohal as president, Art and Culture Director Aribam Shivdas Sharma and Meghalaya Manipuri Sahitya Parishad president K B Yengkhom as guests of honour.
Floral tributes were paid to the photo of the deceased members of Manipur Sahitya Parishad while Sahitya awardees and eminent personalities were also awarded during the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Karam Shyam stated that it is quite a commendable responsibility of Manipur Sahitya Parishad who has been able to produce eminent writers, poets and authors.
The initiative and hard work of these writers in producing books which aim to raise awareness and educate the right and wrong doings in a society.
He stated that Manipur Sahitya Parishad has made huge contributions in the society, which are often not recognised or aware by the people.
He urged the present as well as emerging writers not to feel disheartened in writing and expressing the wrong doings, the good and the truth.
