Sensitization programme for ANMs, ASHA, Anganwadi workers held

Under the National Nutrition Mission, a comprehensive training cum sensitisation programme for ANMs, ASHA and Anganwadi workers was held Saturday at Indoor Stadium, Japhou Bazaar, Chandel.
The program was inaugurated by Vumlunmang Vualnam, Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare, Government of Manipur.
Deputy Commissioner of Chandel Krishna Kumar, Director of Social Welfare Jacintha Lazarus, Joint Director Social Welfare Dr Sonia Oinam, and ADC Chandel A Chinglenkhomba Meitei shared me dais with the Principal Secretary Health and Family Welfare.
In his inaugural speech, Vumlunmang urged the Anganwadi workers, ASHAs and ANMs to work together with dedication and provide maximum benefits to the people of the district.
As per an order, the ASHAs and Anganwadi workers along with ANMs would go to villages every week to meet the villagers and assess their health and nutrition requirements.
The State Government will provide all necessary assistance for effective implementation of the National Nutrition Mission (NNM), he said.
Director, Social Welfare Jacintha Lazarus emphasised the need of joint activities to be undertaken by the Anganwadi and ASHA workers.
During the program, Dr Sonia Oinam, Joint Director, Social Welfare spoke on 'National Nutrition Mission', Dr Meme Seram, SNO, (Maternal Health) on 'Antenatal care', Dr Sylvia, SNO (Child Health) on 'New bom care and nutrition', Dr Jubilee, SNO (RKSK) on 'Adolescent Health', Dr Sucheta, SNO (Family Planning) on 'Family Planning' and Dr Ibemcha, SNO (RBSK) spoke on 'RBSK' (Rashtrya Bal Swasthya Karyakram).
CDPOs, supervisors, Anganwadi and ASHA workers and concerned officials of health and ICDS Department attended the programme.
Prior to the training program at Indoor Stadium, a review meeting of health & nutrition indicators was conducted at the office of DC .
