Syed Ahman Khan Day-2014 celebrated in Manipur

The 197th birth anniversary of the revolutionary Muslim leader and scholar Sir Syed Ahmad Khan was celebrated in Manipur today.
The Aligarh Muslim University-Alumni Association of Manipur (AMU-AAM) observed their annual Sir Syed Day-2014 event at Community Hall, Thoubal Moijing, today.

College of Commerce, Md.Shahid Khan,Lt.Colonel, Md.Abdul Helim khan, Associate Prof.and S.N.Islamuddin, Associate Prof.Lilong Haoreibi College graced the function as the Presidium Members respectively.

Sir Syed Ahmed one of the architects of modern India was born on October 17 in 1817 at Delhi, one of the presidium members said, while emphasizing the role played by him in revolutionizing Education.
He called on Muslims of India to wake up and don't consider themselves as minority, "There is no minority or Majority in the country, India belongs to all who live here." He was of the opinion that Indian Muslims can become a force to reckon with if they take up education seriously.
AMU-AAM also felicitated a few individuals for their role in their respective fields including, Md.Arif Majahid, Manipur Finance Service (MFS), Miss Nahamuda Begam, Manipur Forest Service (MFS) and Chingthangkhomba, Manipur Finance Service (MFS).
The program ended with the session of AMU-Tarana.
