CM stresses on need for Profs' accommodation in JNIMS

Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh on Thursday highlighted the need for accommodating Professors and Assistant Professor of Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS) in the hospital campus to facilitate advantages during emergencies.
The Chief Minister was addressing a gathering after inaugurating the newly constructed JNIMS Auditorium in the Government hospital complex where he also inaugurated the Annual Conference of API East Zone.
He stressed the need for providing pleasant services to all patients by doctors noting that providing effective basic healthcare services for everyone is a much.
He added that all people should maintain healthy life so that duties can be performed well.

Ibobi assured maximum cooperation and assistance from the Government side in promoting the healthcare system.
He said his Government has been giving priority to the healthcare system of the State.
Expressing his desire to make JNIMS one of the leading hospitals in the North East, the Chief Minister said the JNIMS Accident & Trauma Centre needs to start functioning in a proper way.
He said there is need to accommodate Professors and Assistant Professors in the hospital campus to facilitate advantages during emergencies.
State Chief Secretary O Nabakishore was present on the occasion as the guest of honour.
He mentioned that the JNIMS Auditorium had been constructed by the PWD at the cost of Rs 16.7 crore.
President of the function, JNIMS Director Deven Singh Laishram said efforts are on to move ahead with the treatment facility in the Government run hospital.
Besides, focus has been given to the hospital care service, apart from maintaining a regular monitoring system, Dr Deven said.
The JNIMS Director said the JNIMS Rural Health Training Centre is being developed, besides getting additional infrastructures.
East Zonal API Committee chairman Dr Giridhari Kar, Annual Conference of API East Zone Organising Committee vice chairman Dr Th Bhimo and PHED Minister I Hemochandra were on the dais during the function.
