Kangpokpi, October 01 2015:
Kuki Revolutionary Front (KRF) on Thursday clarified on the arrest of two of its men allegedly for looting along NH-2 which was published in some local dailies.
The outfit's Information and Publicity Secretary Lincoln Kuki said that the reported news item regarding the arrest of two of its men on Tuesday at around 10 pm in connection with looting of trucks along the National Highway 2 (Imphal-Dimapur road) by a team of Kangpokpi Police led by OC Hussian Ahmed is baseless and false while adding that the outfit has nothing to do with the incident.
He wondered how an Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station could not accurately establish whether the two were cadres of the outfit or innocent civilians as a copy of the list of the outfit's cadres was in the station itself.
He also charged the OC Kangpokpi PS of levelling false allegations against the outfit and expressed displeasure for trying to tarnish the image of KRF.
Paokholam Chongloi, s/o (L) Lunkhomang Chongloi and Hengoulen Hangshing, s/o Paolen Hangshing of Keithelmanbi (Champhai) village had clarified that they were innocent civilians and had no connection with the outfit, KRF claimed.
The KRF leader further clarified that cadres of the outfit have never involved in looting, robbery and other unlawful activities along the highway.
It said the incident was a sinister design to blemish the hard earned image of the outfit.
KRF urged men in uniform particularly the Officer-in-Charge of Kangpokpi Police Station to maintain cordial relationship while eschewing from spreading false propaganda against the outfit which can generate misunderstanding and unsolicited relationship between the police and the outfit in future.
