Imphal, October 26 2018:
BJP Manipur State Unit has questioned why the Congress Opposition party is extremely miffed with Chief Minister N Biren Singh being named the 3rd best CM in the country and the best CM in the North East region in the study undertaken by India Today Political Stock Exchange.
Speaking to media persons at the party's office at Canchipur today, its spokesperson Chongtham Bijoy asked why the Opposition party is revelling in the baseless report published by a daily media regarding the alleged decrease in the rank of the Chief Minister.
Demanding the Congress and all those concerned to point out the current ranking of the CM if they know better, Bijoy explained that even the Associate Editor of India Today, Kaushik Deka had clarified that the 7th edition of India Today carried out a survey excluding the North East States and as such there is no change in the ranking attained by N Biren Singh.
He even mentioned that the ranking from the survey conducted in the 6th edition of India Today is still unchanged, Bijoy added.
Alleging that the Congress party showed its negative attitude by remarking that the Governor was quick with lauding the ranking attained by the CM, Bijoy added that the words and statements made by ex-Deputy CM Gaikhangam involving the Governor clearly shows how the condition is inside AICC.
He further clarified that India Today is not pro-BJP and added that the Congress's attitude towards the celebration clearly shows sign of jealousy.
Even though Chief Minister N Biren Singh was in the Congress party in the past, he shone after he joined BJP, Bijoy said and accused the Congress of being a party which is content in snooping around every nook and corner to dig out dirt in other people and parties.
All the works done by Chief Minister N Biren Singh are impossible dreams for the Congress, he added.
Bijoy continued that the reception of the CM by the Governor regarding his ranking was not a formal function but a simple unofficial function and asked why the Congress is so enraged by the said function.
Strongly condemning the question raised by the Congress on whether the Governor is a BJP worker, Bijoy conveyed that everyone should be proud and content for getting such a good Chief Minister.
On the other hand, BJP Manipur state unit treasurer, Robin Blackie clarified that it was not announced by BJP nor the CM but by India Today and questioned the negativity shown by the Congress to the said news.
The Congress should not be jealous of the CM getting the best CM ranking for his good deed for the welfare of the people, he added.
