Oinam Ibohal Polytechnic Skilled Development Centre inaugurated

Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar Singh inaugurated Oinam Ibohal Polytechnic Skilled Development Centre at Keishampat today.
The inaugural function of the skilled development centre was held today at the community hall of Keishampat Leimajam Leikai.
Health & Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar, ex-MP Kim Gangte and State Academy of Training, Imphal Director General O Nabakishore Singh graced the inaugural function as chief guest, president and guest of honor respectively.
Speaking at the function, Jayantakumar informed that the Government of India has been providing skill development trainings to the youths and womenfolk under PMKVY of NSDC, New Delhi by creating quality vocational training institutions in different States of the country.
He said that the main objective of the programme is to provide sustainable income to the unemployed youths and poor people by enhancing their skills.
Underscoring the importance of grooming human resources in the State, he said there is a need to impart skills to the unskilled people and providing suitable jobs.
The Minister went on to exude confidence that opening of skill development centres and providing skills to the people will go a long way towards containing the unemployment problem in the State.
Claiming that the Government has been providing machines and equipment to the eligible private individuals, Self Help Groups (SHGs) and voluntary organizations, he pointed out that technical know-how of the machines and equipment is must to obtain the benefits of the Government initiatives.
Such skill development centres will train individuals about handling and proper utilisation of the machines and equipment, he said.
Jayantakumar then sought public cooperation in the initiatives taken up by the Govt while urging youths and women to join different skill development trainings available.
