Awards and medals adorn Bolkot Jr High School Annual Day Celebration

Bolkot Junior High School in Kangpokpi District celebrated its Annual Day 2018 with fervour and enthusiasm at its school campus today.
The programme was attended by Letkholam Hangshing, Addl SP (CID), Imphal, Maj Subrata Debbarma, Post Commander, 38 Assam Rifles Motbung Post and Pfotokho Adani Pfote, Dy SP (CID), Imphal as dignitaries.
The programme began with a formal welcome by the Head Girl while the Principal of the school read out the progressive annual report which was followed by a scintillating Thadou cultural dance while the students showcased their talents and abilities on the stage with confidence.
A prize distribution ceremony was also held to honour students who had excelled in academics and extracurricular activities including scholastic and co-scholastic achievements, talented children who have brought laurels for the school in various competitions held at inter-school level and outstanding students who have achieved success both in academic as well as in sports.
All the awards and prizes were distributed by the Chief Guest Letkholam Hangshing, Addl SP (CID), Imphal in the presence of other dignitaries and the village chief Lalkholet Sitlhou.
The most riveting performance which drew an unceasing applause came from the the 'Hindi Patriotic Dance' followed by a traditional Fashionista show which added great elan, as enthusiastic students walked the ramp with grace and poise while the Suhta-Lam (Bamboo Dance), Manipuri dance and others eye-catching cultural dance were also performed by the student community.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest while contendimg that the children has put up a spectacular show said that the students have smartly carved a niche for themselves while adding that students should not only be imparted excellent education but also be taught love, compassion and great values so that they can effectively serve their nation.
Speaking to media persons, Lalkholet Sitlhou, Chief of Bolkot village said that it was a joyous day for teachers as it is a great opportunity for children to showcase their talents and a pride moment for the parents watching their wards performed on stage.
"We always encourage the teachers to expand and upgrade their knowledge and impart it to the students to keep the school abreast with the latest developments in the field of academics and the learning techniques", said the village chief.
While conveying gratitude to the dignitaries and all those people who had helped in making celebration grand success, the village Chief also appreciated all the teachers for their tireless efforts.
