Polling officials detailed for election duty in the 40 ADC constituencies of Senapati district have set out for their respective polling stations starting today together with security personnel.
Polling officials detailed for duty in the interior polling stations of 24 ADC constituencies started moving to their assigned polling stations from today.
According to information received from the election control room, Senapati, polling officials for the remaining 16 ADC constituencies would move to their polling stations tomorrow.
Seven CRPF companies will be utilised in Senapati district for the second phase of ADC elections scheduled to be held on June 2 .
Notably, many civil organisations and student bodies of the district have been opposing the ADC elections demanding that the ADC Act of 2008 should be amended first.
The seven CRPF companies would be assisted by civil police to ensure that the polling is conducted peacefully, said the SP of Senapati district.
As of now, there is little apprehension about unwanted incidents and the situation is quite normal, added the SP.
