Rather in a noticeable improvement, one student each of a government school and an aided school have been able to sneak into the elite list of 25 position holders in the High School Leaving Certficate Examination-2010 of which results were declared today.
A student of Keishamthong High School, which was opened as the government model school by Education Minister, L Jayentakumar just a year ago, has bagged the 13th position in the examination.
Nelson Salam of St Joseph School, Sangaiprou scored 467 marks bagging the first position in the examination conducted the Board of Secondary Education, Manipur (BSEM).
Sylvia Keisham of Little flower School won the second position.
She scored 462 marks.
Santosh Akoijam of St Joseph School, Sangaiprou was adjudged the third position holder with 456 marks.
Out of 16,577 students who appeared in the examination, 1,643 students passed in first division, 7,412 in second division and 7,522 in third division.
The pass percentage is 61 .
The pass percentage in 2009 was 57%, in 2008 it was 58% and in 2007 it was 52% .
Vilina Langonjam, Mongshangei of Nirmalabas School, Imphal bagged the 4th position.
Lairikyengbam Diviya, Lairikyengbam Mayai Leikai of Little Flower School, Imphal and Guruaribam Siksharthi Sharma, Guruaribam Leikai, of Standard Robarth Higher Secondary School shared 5th position.
Thokchom Ambrose, Lamboi Khongnangkhong of St Joseph's School, Sangaiprou was the 6th position holder.
Ningthoujam Nelson, Kakching Ningthoujam Leikai of Padma Ratna English School, Kakching and Thokchom Leisemba Meetei, Keirak Makha Leikai of the same school were the joint holders of 7th position.
Deepika Laishram, Khagempalli Huidrom Leikai of Little Flower English School and Lalchhandama Hauhnar of Upper Republic, Aizawal, Mizoram of Mt Zion English School, Langol Tarung shared the 8th position.
Khathangbam Bidyashwor, Mongshangei School Leirak of Regular English High School, Kwakeithel bagged the 9th position while Athokpam Langlen Chanu, Wangkhei Ningthem Pukhri Mapal of Brighter Academy, New Checkon, Imphal stood the 10th position.
After many years, a student of an aided school bagged the 13th position in the examination this time.
The student is Kshetrimayum Sounkisor, residing at Khurai Nandeibam Leikai.
He secured 439 with letter marks in five subjects.
A girl student of Keishamthong High School, Imphal, which was opened as the first ever Government Model School, stood the 18th position.
She shared the position with another student of Catholic School, Canchipur.
The student of Keishamthong High School is Maibam Ashakiran Devi of Lilong Chajing Mamang Leikai.
