TPR rises; one dies, 35 newly infected

Imphal, November 28 2021:
After three consecutive days of reporting below 2 per cent daily test positivity rate, the TPR picked up on Sunday with government bulletins reporting 35 cases out of 1424 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 2.46 per cent.
Meanwhile, one death case was reported on Sunday which took the cumulative number of death toll from Covid-19 to 1971 .
The victim was an unvacciated resident of Imphal East.
The active caseload rose to 685 out of which only 38 (5.55 per cent) are in home isolation.
There is no updated information on bed availability in different hospitals and Covid care facilities.
Out of the 16 districts, only six reported fresh Covid cases on Sunday with Imphal West reporting highest cases at 28 .
In terms of positivity rate too, Imphal West district recorded highest single day positivity rate at 5.2 per cent while Churachandpur and Thoubal districts recorded lowest positivity rate at 0.8 per cent.
So far, the state has recorded 95,752 positive cases and 1597 fatalities since the beginning of the second wave of the pandemic.
The current month reported 1421 new positive cases and 50 death cases out of which 234 new cases and 9 fatalities were added in the last seven days alone.
According to official reports, the 35 new positive cases included 29 people (16 male & 13 female) from among the general population and 6 personnel of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (3), JNIMS (8) and other testing centres (24), The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (2), Imphal West (22), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1) and Churachandpur (2).All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.
In the last 24 hours, 22 patients were discharged from home isolation (8), JNIMS (4) and CCCs (10) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached.
1,25,152 (general population - 1,20,722 and CAPF personnel - 4,430).Number of recovered cases is 1,22,496 (general population - 1,18,141 and CAPF personnel - 4,355) and number of active cases is 685 (general population - 615 and CAPF personnel - 70) .
The recovery rate is 97.88 per cent.
A total of 488 D-type and 106 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
In all, 6187 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday, which took the cumulative number of vaccinated people to 12,77,512 including 8,61,341 fully vaccinated individuals.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (43,844), Imphal East (27,772), Thoubal (9474), Churachandpur (10,179), Kangpokpi (2786), Tamenglong (3284), Bishnupur (9201), Senapati (2241), Ukhrul (2992), Kakching (6436), Chandel (2354), Noney (1073), Tengnoupal (1077), Jiribam (1022), Kamiong (953) and Pherzawl (464) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (658), Imphal East (470), Thoubal (177), Churachandpur (162), Kangpokpi (62), Tamenglong (14), Bishnupur (192), Senapati (10), Ukhrul (43), Kakching (113), Chandel (41), Noney (4), Tengnoupal (13), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5) and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 40,333 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 24,711 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,56,178 tests per million population against the national average of 4,57,201 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.57 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1424 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 2.46 per cent per cent while the cumulative positivity came down to 8.84 per cent.
