Literary world of K Padmakumar critically appreciated

Sahitya Academy and Epathoukok organised a one-day literary forum on K Padmakumar and his literary works at Shrine Play House, Chorus Repertory Theatre, Uripok Samusang Uku on Sunday.
On the occasion, four books authored by K Padmakumar were also released.
Attending the literary forum as the Chief Guest, convenor of Manipuri Language Advisory Board, Sahitya Academy New Delhi, Prof H Behari said that books authored by prominent writers in Manipur need to be critically studied and appreciated.
It may be recalled that the K Padmakumar made immense contributions to the corpus of literary productions in Manipur.
He not only shaped the creative ideas of young literary aficionados but also took major role in mentoring students when he was a teacher at Ram Lal Paul School, Imphal.
The writer also took major role in publishing the path-breaking literary journal called "Ritu" .

Delivering the key note address on the occasion, Art and Culture Secretary K Radhakumar, who is the late K Padmakumar's son, gave an insight into his father's works.
He said there were deep philosophical content in the works of K Padmakumar.
More or less proposing the necessity of delving deeper into the world of Padmakumar's works, Radhakumar said the deeper insight of the thinking of the poet and the author could be further analysed.
Goutam Paul, officer in charge of Sahitya Academy Kolkata was also present during the literary forum.
Epathoukok Presdient N Jilangamba presided over the function.
The four books of K Padmakumar released on the occasion include "Kanasu Eigi Ming Khangde" (Novel), "Chekla Paikhrabana" (Poetry), "Anouba Chahigi Paojel" (Poetry) and "Matam Matamgi Wakhal" (Essays) .
The literary forum was divided into two sessions.
The first session was moderated by Naorem Khagendra.
The key speakers of the day were Longjam Joychandra; K Hemchandra and Nongmaithem Tombi in the first session.
After lunch, the second session was moderated by E Dinamani.
The speakers were IS Kangjam; Nahakpam Aruna; Jodhachandra Sanasam and Ch Sheelaramani.
Vote of thanks was given by Vice President Epathoukok, Imphal T Bangkabihari.
