Film Making Workshop to promote regional film to begin in Imphal

Imphal, March 25 2017:
A 9 days Film Making Workshop "a festival of selected films of Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) for documentary, short and animation films" organized by the Films Division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India in partnership with Directorate of Information and Public Relations, MSFDS, Government of Manipur, Film Society of Manipur and Manipur State Film Development Society is going to commence from March 27 to April 4, 2017 at Manipur State Film Development Society (MSFDS) Complex, Palace Compound, Imphal.
Speaking to the media persons at the MFDC auditarium, four-time National Award winner, Film Maker Joshy Joseph said that such workshops is a part to reach-out initiatives of films division to popularize non-feature films, particularly documentaries in the country.

Fresher is the main priority of this year workshop to be conducted in Imphal in-order to support the new ideas encouraging interested film makers to examine themselves in new ways, he added.
Joshy Joseph also said that participants in the workshop will be immensely avail the benefit to trained in the art of film making under the hands of seasoned film makers and technicians as the workshop is well designed into 3 days of ideation followed by 3 days of shooting and 3 days of editing.
During the 9 days, screening of the films prepared at the workshop will also be conducted to screen at the 15th MIFF 2018 in Mumbai.
14 MIFF award winning films will also be screen from March 30 to April 4, 2017 in-order to inspire the budding film makers participating in the workshop, he added.
Imphal film festival cum workshop is the 6 time in the North-East series after Aizawl, Silchar, Dimapur, Agartala and Lunglei.
Altogether, 26 film makers (fresher) are taking part in the workshop including 2 female including 5 from hill district of Manipur.
Well known film makers of the state and the country attended the conference.
