Imphal, March 25 2017:
Taking strong exception to the prolonged absence of a Director at RIMS which has been disrupting the institute's normal functions every now and then, the International Peace and Social Advance-ment (IPSA) has flayed the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for its failure to appoint a Director.
A press release issued by IPSA secretary general Khuraijam Athouba said that the multiple problems caused by absence of Director/Director in-charge in RIMS cannot be resolved by doctors, nurses and other staff and it demands sincere intervention by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
A memorandum would be sent to the Prime Minister regarding the RIMS issue, it conveyed.
At the same time, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare should appoint a Director in-charge of RIMS at the earliest so that the medical institute can resume its normal functions.
The Ministry should also initiate due procedures to appoint a regular Director without undue delay.
It appealed to the entire medical fraternity to avoid as far as possible such agitation like cease work strike for their service is about saving life.
It further conveyed gratitude to RIMS employees for aborting their decision to launch a cease work strike.
