Demanding the authorities concerned to bring out the killers of DK James alias Moshilpha Maring, locals of Tengnoupal blocked the National Highway No.2 (Imphal-Moreh Road) right from early morning today.
The protestors blocked the highway by laying trees and burning tyres at Kakching Lamkhai, Laimangai Chingjil and Pallel Forest Gate.
A large number of men and women armed with sticks, stones and catapults blocked passerby vehicles along the highway.

One Hero Honda Splendor motorcycle bearing registration MN-1K-3420 was damaged by the bandh supporters.
Convenor of the JAC Gabriel Chinir said that the JAC could have called bandh against the brutal murder of DK James, but the JAC refrained from calling bandh as the investigation of the murder case was going on.
He also condemned the interference of some people in the investigation process, and appealed to all to render utmost support in tracing out the culprits by shedding narrow communal outlook.
