CorCom strike paralyses normal life

Imphal, October 15 2015 :
The 18-hour general strike called by Coordination Committee (CorCom), as part of its black day observance to commemorate the "annexation of Manipur" by the Indian State on October 15, 1949 severely affected normal life in the State, particularly the valley areas.
The general strike was called from Wednesday midnight till 6 pm of Thursday.

All the business establishments in Imphal areas including Khwairamband Keithel, Paona Bazar, Thangal bazar were shut.
All the educational institutions remained closed while Government offices recorded thin attendance.
Most of the roads in valley areas wore a deserted look since inter district and interstate passenger vehicles remained off the roads.
However, the general strike ended peacefully and no untoward incidents related to the strike were reported.
