Government alone cannot handle problem in health sector: CM Ibobi

The Government alone cannot handle the problems in health sector of the State, Chief Minister O Ibobi said on Thursday while addressing a Financial Assistance Distribution Function sponsored by Manipur Heart Foundation in collaboration with Sky Hospital at Classic Hotel, North AOC, Imphal.
The Chief Minister further said that the Government along with the private sectors needs to tackle the problems of health and education.
Appreciating the contribution of Dr L Shyamkishore for the noble cause of humanity, the Chief Minister said one may adopt the profession of doctor, engineer or social worker, but this profession should be used for the betterment of the society.
"We have to appreciate not only Dr Shyamkishore but also those philanthropists who are rendering their services to people and helping them financially, and physically," he added.
While distributing financial assistance of Rs 25,000 each to nine heart patients belonging to different BPL families from all the districts of the state for treatment, the Chief Minister hoped that people with generosity will contribute in such noble causes of humanity.
He also donated Rs 1 lakh to Manipur Heart Foundation from his discretionary fund.
The function was attended by Manipur Heart Foundation president and chairman, Chief Cardiologist, Sky Group of Hospitals Dr L Shyamkishore and PHED Minister I Hemochandra Singh as President and Guest of Honour.
The function was also attended by Parliamentary Secretary for TA & Hills and IT, Victor Keishing, MLAs O Landhoni Devi and St Nunghlung Victor as special guests.
As part of the function, the activities and achievements of Manipur Heart Foundation since its inception on March 3, 2013 were also highlighted through a 16-minute visual support.
It may be mentioned that since the establishment of MHF, during a short span of two years it organised different seminars on heart related ailments in different districts of the state, rendered financial assistance to patients belonging to the needy and BPL families for treatment, besides conducting free heart camps at district levels for children under the age group of 13 years in various places of the state.
