Medical camp
A medical camp was organised by the medical team of Aina Battalion under the aegis of 'Red Shield Division' on Oct 7 and 8 Saichang village of Henglep subdivision of Churachandpur district.
Patients from Saichang neighbouring villages were treated for various illness and medicines for both acute and chronic diseases were distributed, according to a statement issued by the PRO (Defence), Imphal.
SUK concerned
Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) has expressed serious concern over the arson at St Peter's School building, Churachandpur.
In a statement, SUK urged the public to cooperate the Govt in booking the arsonists while also urging the Govt to take measures to prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
AR interacts with womenfolk
24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of Hqs IGAR (South) interacted with the womenfolk at Kwatha village on October 13.The interaction was attended by 32 local women including few elders of Kwatha village.
The president of the Women Society informed that they impose restrictions and fines against those who indulge in abusing alcohol and domestic violence.
Fire at gas service
A fire broke out at the office of Porompat Gas Service in Imphal East district at around 4.30 am today.
Sources said that cause of the fire that destroyed some important documents, computers and KYC forms is yet to be ascertained.
The owner of the LPG station has been identified as Lairenjam Manoranjan of Kwakeithel Mayai Koibi.
2 killed in mishap
Two individuals were killed after the Bajaj Pulsar they were riding hit a tree on October 14 at around 7.30 pm.
The individuals have been identified as Ayekpam Tiken Singh (23), s/o A Tolen Singh of Jiribam Champanagar Maning Leikai and S Iboyaima Singh (40), s/o S Mangi Singh of Bishnupur.
The bodies have been handed over to family members by Jiri police after conducting post-mortem.
Dengue suspects
Blood samples of six suspected Dengue patients of Churachandpur have been sent to JNIMS for testing today.
The test results are likely to be available tomorrow.
