Imphal, October 15 2015 :
The Naga People's Front (NPF), Chandel divisional unit has dismissed the charges levelled against NPF Manipur president by three members as 'empty and baseless' .
In a statement, NPF Chandel unit said that the NPF fared well under the dynamic leadership of Awangbow Newmai in the recently concluded ADC elections.
Awangbow's able leadership and conviction to protect the rights of the tribal of Manipur have restored the faith of the hill people in political leaders which was once lost.
The members of the NPF who have resigned from their posts have been making wild allegations against the State unit president out of frustration and sheer lack of political wisdom, it said.
The NPF Central leaders at Kohima need to take up necessary action against them, it added.
Meanwhile, the NPF, Ukhrul division has expressed serious concern over the resignation of three vice-presidents of NPF Manipur unit at a time when the party leaders and elected ADC members are constantly exploring ways to serve the tribal people of Manipur in the best possible, transparent and accountable manner through frequent coordinations and when the Naga Nation is going through important phase post the Naga peace accord.
As senior politicians, the three VPs of the NPF Manipur unit should have better known that any differences could have been resolved through proper dialogues across the table according to party constitution, a statement issued by NPF Ukhrul division said.
It appealed to all party workers of Ukhrul to leave aside individual interest and to remain steadfast in upholding the principles of the party and be prepared to contribute their best for the larger cause of the Nagas in particular and the tribals in general.
