Imphal, October 15 2015 :
Stating that there is no point which may infringe upon the rights of the people of hill districts in the three Bills passed by the State Legislative Assembly, International Manipuri Mothers' Association (IMMA) has urged the people of the hill areas to support these Bills.
In a statement, IMMA said that they would take part in every movement initiated by the people of the hill districts if the Bills have any point which goes against the wish of the hill people.
As such, leaders of hill and valley areas must thoroughly study the Bills together to clear the doubts if there is any, the statement said.
Saying that Manipur is a tiny State having an area of just 22,327 sq km, the association also urged all concerned to drop the idea of demanding homelands.
Instead of further fragmenting the present State, people must put in effort to regain its lost areas like Kabaw valley, Cachhar, Takhel, Brahmaputra valley, Doyeng and Danshri etc, the statement said.
IMMA also urged the Government to take up immediate steps to enact the three Bills.
