Woman held with huge quantity of precious stones

Imphal, October 15 2015 :
Troops of the 24 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) established a vehicle check post at Khudengthabi along Imphal-Moreh road and nabbed a woman along with huge quantity of contraband precious stones on October 13 .
In a statement, PRO HQ IGAR (S) said the apprehendee was identified as Laishram Ranjana Devi (31), daughter of Laishram Kulumani Singh of Soibam Leikai Kananglabung Lairak under Porompat Police Station.
She was travelling in a Maruti van bearing Registration Number MN-05A-5193 and heading towards Imphal.
During the frisking and checking, seven uncut stones (pink colour), two cut stones (pink colour), four polished stones (lemon colour), one polished stone (pink colour), one polished stone ( brown colour), one polished stone (light blue colour), one polished stone (dark blue colour), one polished stone (white colour), nine polished stones (orange colour), three polished stones (yellow colour), thirty seven polished stones (brown colour), one PAN Card and a driving license were recovered from her possession.
The apprehendee along with the recovered item has been handed over to the Customs Department, Moreh.
