AJMPO submits memorandum to DC, Jiribam

The All Jiribam Minority People's Organisation (AJMPO), Jiribam has submitted a memorandum to Jiribam's Deputy Commissioner today, regarding the minimum inclusion of electoral from the minority inhabited areas of the district in the final electoral roll 2019.Stating that only a few percentage of applicants were included in the recent voters list summary revision, the memorandum reminded the DC that there were no new inclusion in the last electoral revision of 2018, published in January.
Though the concerned DC assured to include the left out genuine voters in the new summary revision before the forthcoming parliamentary election, only a few applicants name have been included in the recently uploaded voters list and it hurt the sentiment of the genuine applicants who have to apply repeatedly in vain, said AJMPO.
AJMPO further urged the concerned Deputy Commissioner to include all the valid applicants in the recent released revision of voters list so that the genuine citizen could exercise their democratic rights in the forthcoming parliamentary election.
Meanwhile, All Jiribam Tribal Union (AJTU) also condemned the failure of the State Government and concerned authorities to include eligible tribal citizen of Jiribam in the final electoral rolls published on January 11, this year.
A press release issued by AJTU stated that the citizen who have applied for enrolment of voter are not called for hearing and verification and the final electoral rolls were published without any notification from the concerned authorities.
Pointing out that the Constitution guaranteed Universal Adult Franchise for every citizen who attained the age of 18 years irrespective of genders, caste, creed, race, religion and language, AJTU urged the State Government not to deny the democratic rights of the people and to deliver justice at the earliest.
Cautioning that the union will not remain a mere spectator and will fight for the rights of the people, AJTU demanded the District administration and State authority to look into the matter and reconsider the concern of the people at the earliest.
