7-day basic course in news reporting set into motion

A 7-day basic course in news reporting under the auspices of State Institute of Journalism, DIPR, Govt of Manipur was set into motion today at Lamka Press Club.
The inaugural function today was attended by Khaikhopau Ngaihte, MCS, AC to DC, CCpur and W Phajatombi, MCS, Jt Director, DIPR as the chief guest and president respectively.
Speaking on the occasion, Khaikhopau Ngaihte said that the training course is well-timed.
He said it is very necessary to hold such trainings in the wake of social media proliferation and journalism.
He exuded strong confidence that the course would immensely benefit the trainees as they get the opportunity to be trained under resourceful persons who have vast and wide knowledge and experiences in the field of journalism.
Amongst others, the inaugural function was attended by Seema Sanjenbam, Course Coordinator, SIJ; Th Mangminthang Gangte, District Information Officer, Churachandpur; Snehprabha Sagolsem, Editor, DIPR; Thangkhanlal Ngaihte, Assistant Professor, CCPur Govt College; Nengknanlun Samte, Secretary, MHJU; M Kaimuanthang, Secretary, CWRU.
The course will culminate on January 19 while resource persons ranging from research scholar, college teachers and experienced and award winning journalists will deliver lecture throughout the 7-day course daily.
About 40 participants, drawn from students and working journalists have registered for participation.
