IW Super Division League : MPSC post huge 4-1 win; BMSC, SKYC extend winning streak

MPSC bounced back with a 4-1 thrashing of YDO, Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi today after a 1-0 upset in the hands of BMSC, Taobungkhok in the previous tie of the 19th S Birendra Singh Memorial Super Division Football League Tournament 2018-19 being organised by Imphal West District Football Association at BMSC playground, Taobungkhok.
BMSC and SKYC on the other hand continued their winning ways both registering 2-0 wins against their respective rivals today.
MPSC were relentless on the attack from the beginning in today's first match hoping to overcome last defeat blushes.
YDO were able to hold the pressure for a while until S Sabul conceded an own goal to give MPSC a 1-0 lead.
Th Kiran then doubled MPSC's lead when he cracked a power packed shot in the 28th minute while Golmei claimed another in the 33rd minute to make it 3-0 at the half time.
YDO made a concerted effort in the second half to reduce the deficit while keeping their goalline well guarded but could not find the target anytime soon as MPSC managed to keep all threats at bay.
Their unending attempts made them have a goal in the 68th minute through N Olen Singh though it was a bit late.
Their hope of cutting the goal gap and drawing level however came to an end when Umakanta of MPSC found the decisive goal in the 74th minute of the match to wrap up the game 4-1 .
In today's second and tournament's 8th match, BMSC which defeated MPSC 1-0 in the previous outing, secured a 2-0 win against NC Club, Khonghampat with both the goals coming up in the opening half.
W Pilot was first to score in the 12th minute while the second and the last goal was slotted by P Anand in the 28th minute of the match.
The last match of the day also saw SKYC, Sekmai post a comfortable 2-0 win against CHIKL, Lilong Chajing as Ng Bishorjit scored one goal each half.
SKYC had a slender 1-0 win in their previous match against NC Club on January 12.Bishorjit netted the first in the 39th minute after a series of unsuccessful attempts from both team to band SKYC a 1-0 lead at the break while his second found scored in the three minutes before hour-mark and sealed the game 2-0 .
