Imphal, January 14 2014 :
Manipur state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party today heavily criticized the Chief Minister O Ibobi-led Congress Government in the State, alleging that the people of the state have forced to face extreme suffering due to misgovernance under his 'clumsy leadership' .
Price hike, heavy expenditures in education and health care have badly affected the people, especially the people from poor economic background, Th Chaoba, president BJP Manipur Pradesh said while addressing a political conference at Upper Kalapahar Ground in Kangpokpi, Senapati district.
It was organised by Kangpokpi BJP Mandal.
"We can see periodical fall in price of essential commodities in other states of the country, but in the Congress-ruled Manipur, we cannot see such things happening," he said.
He alleged there is no control of price hike in the state since the Government just lets it happen in such a manner that it never recoils.
The former MP further said a person who earns Rs 100 a day has to spend Rs 200-300 per day on education for a single child, and the Congress Government is now crazy for open corruption and fraud.
Chaoba said schools and hospitals in the state are constantly being privatized, and everyone has witnessed that sometimes one has to let dead body for days in such hospitals on being unable to pay high fee charges.
Ibobi Government is mad over foundation laying ceremonies by inviting Central leaders for a lot of buildings, dams, and projects whose completion is doubtful, the BJP leader accused.
Nepalese dominated Upper Kalapahar has never been included either in the panchayat or Autonomous District Council (ADC) till now ever since the state Government abolished the earlier four gram panchayats in the area.
He assured that the state BJP will apprise the party's Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on the plight of this community during his visit to the state on February 8 .
