Apparel supply offer received from Goa

Chief Minister N Biren Singh inspected the three manufacturing units of Apparel and Garment Making Centre, Lamboikhongnangkhong in Imphal West District today.
The building and machinery of Unit-1 of the Government-owned centre is currently utilised by Big Concepts Foundation Pvt Ltd and Unit-3 by Ningthibee Collections for high quality apparel productions.
Speaking to media persons, the Chief Minister said that ever since these private companies started manufacturing apparel in coordination with the State Government, a Mauritian company had inquired the State Government whether apparel and garment making centre can supply 1 lakh pieces of different apparels every month.
As such, he was assessing means to enhance production in the light of this offer, the Chief Minister added.
Stating that he was visiting the Centre for the second time, N Biren said that the State Government is planning to sign a MoU with the two local private companies within a week to work together in this regard in PPP model.
Trainers from Delhi would train around 1000 youths of the State to start large scale production of apparels, he said while adding that the Centre have machineries for around 350 workers.
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Textiles, Commerce and Industries Minister Th Biswajit, Manipur State Planning Board, Deputy Chairman and Lamshang AC MLA S Rajen, MANIDCO Chairman and Hiyanglam AC MLA Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, Sekmai AC MLA H Dingo and Yaiskul AC MLA Th Satyabrata, Principal Secretary (Commerce and Industry) P Vaiphei and other high ranking officials of the State Government.
