Govenor Gurbachan Jagat inaugurates Lion's Eye Hospital

Imphal, May 04 2012:
Governor Gurbachan Jagat inaugurated a newly constructed Lion's Eye Hospital at the service centre of Lion's Club of Imphal, Sangaiprou today.
The inaugural function of the Eye Hospital was presided by Lion Vijay Patni and Lioness S Shanti was present as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Gurbachan Jagat said that the service of the Lions club for the poor, needy and less fortunate groups of people is commendable.
No service is as great and valuable as the service to the less fortunate group of people.
He also expressed happiness over the success of Lions Eye Hospital and Services Trust in setting up a hospital for the treatment of eye which is considered to be one of the most important human organs and further stated that it is a matter of satisfaction that free eye care camps are regularly being organized at different places under the sponsorship of Lions Club of Imphal.

The Governor also appealed to the people to feel a sense of belongingness to the hospital and extend all possible cooperation in its smooth functioning.
The newly inaugurated Eye hospital has altogether 10 beds.
There will be no charge for conducting operations in the hospital.
Only a minimal registration fee of Rs 10 will be charged from the patients.
