Fun filled events mark Kamjong Youth Festival

Various fun-filled events including a musical concert marked Kamjong Youth Festival held at Kamjong Public Ground yesterday .
Jointly organised by Kamjong Katamnao Long (KKL) and Asian Highways – I band on the theme "Promoting Tourism", the inaugural function was graced by Information Centre for Hill Areas, Manipur (ICHAM) president Yuimi Huiram as chief guest; KKL president K Ninghor as president; Yophang Duidang, DIG, CRPF Group, Langjing; Major RS Negi, CO, 31 AR and Major Krishna Dagar, 31 AR as guests of honor .
A musical concert by AH-I, Thangmeiso Singlai and local artists enthralled the audience .
Exhibition stalls of Meitei and Tangkhul cuisines were also opened inside the venue of the festival .
Speaking at the function, Yuimi stressed on the need to develop road, communication system, education system, medical care and enhance agricultural products in Kamjong as the area is an attractive place for tourists .

He stated that Kamjong is strategically located bordering Myanmar .
He observed that the relationship between Kamjong and Myanmar need to be revived mainly by youngsters .
Stating that Myanmar is rich in mineral and agricultural products, he asserted that Manipur and Myanmar can do profitable business together if road connectivity, healthcare facilities and other infrastructures in Kamjong are improved .
He described Kamjong as a unique place as it is inhabited by different communities .
Unfortunately, the place is least explored for tourist venture and is less documented, he lamented .
Urging the people of Kamjong to collectively strive together to promote the place as a tourist destination in the State, he assured that his organisation will extend all possible help in pressurizing the Government to do the needful in this regard.
