A MEETING of the Security Arrangement Committee of the Raj Bhavan constituted in the aftermath of the recent bomb blast inside the Raj Bhavan complex today reviewed the tightened security measures taken up in and around the Bhavan today even as state authority has chalked out state security personnel to assist the special security guards (SSGs) of the Central Industrials Security Force (CISF).
An official source said that the Security Arrangement Committee of the Raj Bhavan held a meeting under the chair of the state chief secretary who is the chairman of the committee at his office chamber this late afternoon at around 4.30 pm.
Apart from the state principal secretary (home), DS Poonia, state DGP, Y Joykumar and additional DGP, A Romenkumar, the convener of the committee, commissioners of the arts and culture department, social welfare department and PWD chief engineer also took part in the meeting.
The commissioners of the arts and culture and social welfare took part in the meeting as two structures, the state Central Library under the arts and culture department and the state social welfare board office under the social welfare department are located next to the Raj Bhavan on the western side.
While the PWD chief engineer took part with regard to the proposed increase of height of the RCC fencing around the Raj Bhavan complex.
After the RCC wall high up, authority is planning to add by barbwire fencing up the RCC wall as apart of security measures taken up in the aftermath of the December 21 blast which a group of KCP(MC) had owned responsible.
The meeting while reviewing the deployment of the security in and around the Raj Bhavan also discussed on providing a secure environment in the nearby government and private structures standing nearby the Raj Bhavan, the source said.
Meanwhile, another official source said that after the MHA gave green signal for the protection of the state chief minister O Ibobi with SSG of the CISF, the state police department has started security set up preparation of providing state security personnel to assist the SSG.
A deputy superintendent of police of the CID along with two jemandars, one each from the 1st and 2nd Manipur Rifles and three riflemen taken out one each from 1st, 2nd battalion and 3rd IRB will be attached to the SSG to assist in providing security to the chief minister, the source said.
Component of Bullet Detection Devise System (BDDS), two mime sweeper, three deep search metal detectors, one explosive detector, one optical fiberscope, six bomb blankets, five RSP tool kit set, six blasting machines, three car remote opening tool kit (CROT), one Icetong, 11 bomb suit, 10 inspection mirror (overhead), 10 bomb basket, three prodder will also be provided to the SSG by the state police department.
BDDS team catering to be requirements for the entire state logistic support to the SSG of CISF will be provided as and when requisitioned.
There is no multi-zone DFMD and X-ray-BIS with CID (SB).
So the department has submitted a proposal for procurement of 15 DFMD (Multi Zone) and five X-ray baggage machines (scanner) to the PHQ recently along with 24 bullet proof vest, the source added.
