As declared before the by-poll to the Moirang Assembly Constituency, the newly elected INC MLA Mairembam Prithiviraj has pledged to complete the tasks left unfinished by his late father, Mairembam Manindra.
Talking to mediapersons at the office complex of Bishnupur DC where he had come to get the certificate after he was declared election in the by-poll, a beaming Prithiviraj said his first priority would be to realise the dreams that his late father had of developing Moirang into a model town.
The second priority would be to utilise the fund from the MLA's Local Area Devt efficiency for the purpose of developing sports, tourism, culture and other areas one after another as his father had wanted, he said, while assuring that he would be taking up necessary measures to accomplish all these tasks at the earliest possible.
In response to a question from the reporters , the newly elected MLA observed that the problem of insurgency and violence in the State could be solved only through political dialogue.
'As an elected representative of the people, I would be doing my best in restoration of peace in the State' he promised, while seeking the support of the people in this regard.
Expressing his gratitude to the people of his Assembly Constituency for their support, Prithiviraj said he would remain indebted.
While coming out from the office complex, a large number of his supporters and party workers congratulated and garlanded him.
After coming till Moirang, the newly elected MLA also conducted a tour of his Assembly Constituency.
