All Manipur Tribal Union and All Tribal Chiefs' Forum, Manipur has submitted a memoradum to Chief Minister N Biren urging to lift the ban on issuance of gazette recognition to hill villages.
The union said that despite 337 villages have been paying hill houses tax regularly to the State Government, the villages have not yet availed full-fledged recognition.
As a result, the issue has been hapering the flow of developmental schemes and other flagship projects.
The tribal people of the Manipur have realized the efforts of the new BJP State Government to develop the hill areas and as such the State Government will hopefully initaite steps to relieve the grievance of the people, it said.
