Ng Jagoi becomes first Tangkhul to summit Everest : ONGC team scale Mt Everest

Three Oil and Natural Gas Commission employees, Yogender Gar-biyal, Ngayaising Jagoi and Rahul Jamgal have created a sort of history by summiting Mount Everest today under the leadership fo Loveraj Singh Dharamshaktu, Assistant Commandant, BSF and representing Indian Mountaineering Foundation (IMF) .
Significantly Ngayaising Jagoi is native of Manipur and is the first from the Tangkhul community to scale the highest peak in the world.
He was one of the HSLC Exam toppers in 2005 from Sacred Heart Higher Secondary school, Ukhrul and was ranked 12th in the Class 12 examination conducted by COHSEM.
Ngayaising cleared IIT JEE in 2008, and graduated with B Tech in Petroleum Engg from ISM Dhanbad.
He is currently posted as an Asst Executive Engineer (Production), ONGC at Agartala.
With this feat, ONGC has become one of the first corporates in the world to successfully scale the Everest.
Yogendar and Loveraj summited the peak at 6.10 am while Jagoi and Rahul achieved the feat at 7.45 am today.
All four members were back to South Col (Camp 4) at 10.45 am and are in good health condition.
The 12-member ONGC expedition team was further divided into two sub-groups - Team 1 and Team 2.The four members are part of the Team 2.Team 1 will attempt summit push tonight.
The expedition is yet another feather in the cap of Assistant Commandant Loveraj, as he summited the Mount Everest for the sixth time now.
Awarded the title of Padma Shri for his five quests earlier, he has helped many climbers summit the coveted Mt Everest.
