Imphal, July 26 2017:
The All Manipur AYUSH Doctors' Association strongly disapproves of the Government's plan to recruit doctors separately instead of recruiting from the 174 doctors under the National Rural Health Mission AYUSH .
In a meeting with the media persons at the Manipur Press Club, the president of the association, Th Ghanashyam said that the National Rural Health Mission Ayush was also launched in the State as a part of the policy by the Indian Government and under this mission, around 174 doctors have been recruited so far since October 27, 2006 and they have been working tirelessly in service of the people .
But the Health Minister of the newly formed Government in its second Assembly session told the House that if the AYUSH Mission expires, the Government will decide what will be done next .
The association strongly disapproves of this statement by the Minister.
The National Rural Health Mission AYUSH will expire in 2023 but the term of the present Government will end before that.
This attitude of indifference and negligence towards the doctors is highly condemnable, he also said .
The preparations for the recruitment of 9 homoeopathic doctors and 3 ayurvedic doctors were through the MPSC were completed on July 24 .
Instead, the AYUSH doctors who have been serving the people for 24 hours a day should have been recruited.
The AYUSH department is already separate from the Health and Services Department, he further added.
