Action demanded against SDPO

One Okram Manglem Meitei (68), a resident of Khongman Okram Chuthek, has accused SDPO, Lamphel police station, Okram Wangkhomba, of threatening his son and family .
Speaking to media person at Manipur Press Club today, Manglem said that the SDPO called up to his son, Okram Tolenkhomba, on the afternoon of September 11 last and threatened him with dire consequences for linking the SDPO's mother in a newspaper advertisement which asked clarification in connection with a clash that took place in the recent past .
It is said that Tolenkhomba and the Wangkhomba are cousin brothers .
Manglem explained that on the night of September 9, a clash between his wife, Okram Ibeyaima, and Wangkhomba's mother, Okram Ibetombi, took place at Khongman Okram Chuthek .
Explaining the cause of the fight, Manglem said that Ibetombi and his family have often tried to tarnish the image of his family by spreading rumours among the locals that Ibeyaima and her daughters attempted to perform black magic against her (Ibetombi) family .
Accusing Wangkhomba of utilized his power and status in threatening innocent people, Manglem asked the State Government and the authority concerned to look into the matter at the earliest and take befitting actions against the said police officer.
