Imphal, January 22 2019:
The Graduate Teachers Promotion Demand Committee for All Manipur Primary Teachers/Hindi Primary Teachers 2011 has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister demanding the promotion of 1379 primary teachers and 175 Hindi primary teachers of 2011 to graduate teachers by following the guideline of the National Council of Teacher Education (NCTE) regulation 2014 while absorbing those teachers who are under Central Sponsorship Teachers (SSA/RMSA), as in the State employees and to take permission from NCTE in order to avoid unwanted circumstances.
A press release issued by convenor, co-convenor and chairman of the committee stated that the teachers had submitted all relevant documents, following the notification of Director of Education on November 29, 2016, and the final seniority list as per the notification of the present Director of Education (S) on May 21, 2018 .
It claimed that many posts of graduate teaches are lying vacant in the Department of Education (S) while many qualified primary teachers/Hindi primary teachers, who have completed MA/MSc/BA/BSc/MEd/BEd/DEIEd are lying without getting promoted to graduate teachers.
The committee further appealed the authority concerned to speed up the process of promotion at the earliest.
