Imphal, August 11 2011:
Naga Youth Front (NYF) has decried the alleged prejudice of the State Government in handling the ongoing indefinite general strike imposed over the demand for a separate district by SHDDC.
In a statement, NYF cautioned that any predisposition to the demand by the Congress led SPF Government would be very unfortunate.
The prolonged silence of the Government and its machineries to the humanitarian crisis along NH-39, specially in Naga areas also manifest the height of discrimination against the Nagas in Manipur.
Any preconceived notion on the part of the State Government over the present issue would ignite massive antagonism among the different communities in Manipur and the present Government should be solely held responsible for any repercussion over dishonouring the series of MoUs signed with NSF, ANSAM and UNC, the NYF statement warned.
The statement issued by investigation and publicity wing of NYF and signed by M Dosupuwa has also questioned the prolonged silence of all Naga elected members, Naga apex civil bodies and political parties over the failure to effectively check the encroachment on the ancestral land and heritage of the Nagas.
