Golden Jubilee Celebration of UESI Manipur Concludes

Imphal, October 07 2012: A three-day long Golden Jubilee Celebration of Union of Evangelical Students of India Ministry in Manipur which begun on October 5 concluded today at St.John High School, Nambol in Bishnupur, Manipur with a renewed commitment to reach out and evangelise the students with gospel truth in campuses within the state and beyond.

The main speakers during the celebration were an internationally known preacher Rev.Dr.Vanlalnghaka based in Shillong and D.K.Zeliang, retired IFS officer who was a Chief Principal Conservator of Nagaland.

The speakers exposed the gospel truth and its timeless relevance driving home the importance of personal salvation and the amazing grace of God that sustains the humanity where many participants committed their lives to God and renewed their hope.

Around 550 participants from all around the state mostly the EU students and EGF joined to celebrate God's faithfulness for past 5 decades.

Way back in 1962 Prof.Lalawia, a physics lecturer of D.M.College started the UESI.

Then it spread far and wide to the other districts of Manipur where at present there 36 Evangelical Unions and nine Evangelical Graduate Fellowships.

Various senior EGFs shared their profound experiences in association and working in the UESI Ministry.

They shared their joys and rich blessings they received while serving God.

The senior EGFs include Bureaucrats, Professor, the Politician, Academician, Doctors, Lawyers, Church leaders and other social leaders.

The vision of UESI reads, "It seeks to evangelize post-matric students in India, nurture them as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, that they may serve the Church and Society" and it was founded on 18th November 1954 .

The UESI community in Manipur celebrated its Golden Jubilee with a theme, "Timeless Relevance of Gospel Truth- (John 14:6), the monolith was unveiled, souvenir was released, cultural extravaganza organized marking the grand celebration of 50 years of UESI Ministry in Manipur.

One of an EGF revealed that there are various EU units in Senapati town in colleges and schools where the students come have fellowship together every Sunday and as such students searching for change and transformation in their lives can contact their college EU units for fellowship and experience its various activities.

He further stated that even the Evangelical Graduate Fellowship has its regular Bible Study fellowship every Sunday which is open any graduate to join the fellowship.

Seminar on various topics was conducted as well.

UESI and Church relationship was taken by Dr.Neizo Puro, President UESI, Nagaland, Tent Making was taught by Rev.James Dhale, Director, Royal Ambassador Academy, Makhan, Senapati, a session on Relationship- premarital relationship aspect was shared by Maotoshi Imsong, Zonal Secretary, UESI-North East and Dr.Daikho, General Secretary, UESI-Manipur exhorted on personal evangelism.

The Golden Jubilee was celebrated with Dr.David Zamzathang as the President of UESI, Manipur and Dr.Daikho, General Secretary, UESI, Manipur.

The golden jubilee celebration concluded with a challenging message from the fame Christian preacher Dr.Vanlalnghaka.
